In 2019, Stockholm's tech ecosystem continues to grow with more VC funds, more incubators and accelerators, more and much bigger co-working spaces, more startups fundraising, many more new angel investors,  and more excitement about the future.

So it's only natural that STHLM TECH FEST 2019 have more of everything that makes this ecosystem awesome...

  • Last year we added a much loved Job Fair, so this year we're going bigger and better with many more categories... Design, Security, Product, A.I., Backend, etc.
  • Two years ago we added the Safari, with sold out information-filled networking events all over the city. This year we double the Safari events and host them in better and more central locations like ALMA, WeWork, Hobo Hotel and many more.
  • This year we add a hackathon, but not just any hackathon - The World's Largest Hackathon for Women at City Hall.
  • And perhaps best of all, this year SLUSH is bringing their much loved networking and matchmaking system (for the first time anywhere) to STHLM TECH FEST.

Peter Carlsson

As the Chief Product Officer and Head of Supply Chain at Tesla until recently you certainly know the cars he's directly responsible for. The Tesla Model 3 pre-orders were a massive success. A few days later Peter left Tesla. HUH?!!  Peter knew that the overwhelming orders for the Tesla Model 3 would force German car manufacturers to go electric and that the Germans were not setup to make the necessary batteries as Tesla had pioneered at the GIgaFactory. So Peter created Northvolt to supply the insane demand for batteries to enable the Germans and others to build the electric cars of the future. Northvolt recently announced $1 Billion in fundraising to build their first factory in northern Sweden.

Johannes Schildt
CEO + Co-founder, KRY

Everyone in Sweden, and soon the rest of Europe, knows what KRY is. In just a few short years since launching, today Kryrepresents close to 6% of all primary care visits in Sweden and with their roll out in the UK, Norway and France they are on track to becoming Europe’s leading digital healthcare company .

To date, KRY has completed almost 1 million patient appointments with over 90% of patients helped. KRY pioneered digital healthcare services by allowing people in need to see a medical doctor or a psychologist via on-demand video consultations. By putting the power of access to healthcare in the hands of patients KRY is challenging the way society provides primary care at its core.

Just like Uber before it, it's now becoming quite common to hear startups pitch themselves as "Kry for home repairs" or "Kry for pets"

Johannes has been named one of the 2018 “30 under 30” in Europe by Forbes Magazine.

Funda Sezgi
COO, Norrsken foundation

Funda about herself: What drove me to the social innovation field is the uncomfortable feeling I got when I noticed how privileged I am for being able to make my own decisions about my own life. I have lived and worked in many different places including Barcelona, San Francisco, Melbourne and Stockholm. I have had the chance to pursue the career paths I chose and acquire a diverse set of skills along the way. While learning is one of the most important drivers for me and I sought to expose myself to new things at every step as I progressed in life, I did not feel that I was pursuing my own path until I started channeling my skills, knowledge and energy towards what really excites me: making the world a better, more inclusive and sustainable place. Please feel free to approach me if you think we have something in common.
